 TCHS Football Announces 2016 Schedule

As realignment reshapes high school athletics in the state of Georgia, new regions are formed and new schedules begin to take shape. The 2016 TCHS Warrior Football schedule will look much different to fans in the coming season. The Warriors will continue their scrimmage with the Metter Tigers as they did last year. However, the non-region schedule will change dramatically. Because of the much smaller Region 2 - AAA, the Warriors will now play five (5) non-region games before its first region contest on October 7th. The Warriors will open the 2016 campaign against the 3 - AA Dublin Fighting Irish in the Badlands on August 19th. In game two the Warriors will renew their local rivalry with the Claxton Tigers in the Pecan Grove on August 26th. After an open week on September 2nd, the Warriors will host the Beach Bulldogs on September 9th in the 2016 TCHS Homecoming Contest. After Homecoming, the Warriors will spend two of the next three weeks on the road against opponents in higher classifications. On September 16 the Warriors will travel to Hinesville to tangle with the AAAAAA Bradwell Institute Tigers for the first time in the 22 year history of TCHS.  After a second open week on September 23rd, the Warriors will clash with another recently familiar opponent. The Warriors will travel to Statesboro to battle the AAAAA Blue Devils on September 30.

The month of October brings with it the 2 - AAA region slate. The Warriors will host the Liberty County Panthers on October 7th and the Brantley County Herons on October 14th. After these two region contest, the Warriors will travel to the Pierce County Bears and Long County Blue Tide on October 21 and 28, respectfully. Finally, the Warriors will honor their Seniors for Senior Night and close the 2016 regular season as they host the Appling County Pirates on November 4th. These five games will determine the representatives for Region 2 - AAA in the 2016 GHSA AAA State Playoffs.
